My partner and I went here in December 2009. Mainly because we'd looked at the menu in passing before and it looked interesting. The surroundings were comfortable and the quality of food was very good, prices very reasonable. service was excellent, attentive but not too much so.

I'm in the Lansdowne all the time, its one of my favourite bars in Glasgow!

The food is top notch- I love the fish and chips and the haggis burger is also very tasty.

Child friendly pub too, and great for football & their Monday Night Quiz!

Dined there yesterday. Grandson ordered fajitas which had barely any chicken. Manager was less than helpful. Argued there was a full chicken breast under a mountain of onions and peppers, but couldn't find it. Friend had a chicken burger and again the breast was so tiny, we wondered what kind of chicken they use. Waiter was great but the manager should be replaced. No reduction in the bill for the lack of chicken when in fact the meal should have been taken off the bill. Never again, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We went for lunch as a big group of 10, firstly we had trouble booking a table as bookings over 6 people have to be ok'd by the manager, then when we arrived they werent even busy so seems slightly pointless!!

We then had a pleasant but very slow waitress who got orders mixed up, and there was clear lack of communication as the wrong order was brought to our table before being taken away...

The main meals came out a few people had macaronni cheese, the comments made regarding this dish was "seems like they forgot the cheese, its pasta in flour sauce" they also had on the menu that it came with garlic bread there was no garlic bread when it came out also a couple had the soup and sadwich of the day which came out firstly it looked terrible but the sandwiches are CLEARLY made up earlier as they came out stale and the cheese and tomato in them was warm.

The deserts were not much better, melted ice cream and a lump of sponge didnt really go down well.

So would not reccommend it at all!!

My husband and I ate at The Loft in February '09 as part of a friend's birthday celebration.
There were not enough staff to serve the busy tables and we waited an hour between first and main courses. Also, my dish (pasta- not exactly the most difficult to make) came once everyone else at our table of 8 had finished eating and my husband had to chase the flapping waitress to find it. By this time (10pm.....3 hours after we arrived) I was no longer hungry and didn't wish to sit eating on my own. My meal was removed form the bill......eh I didn't eat it anyway so I didn't feel this was compensation enough.
5 months on, we decided to give it another shot by visiting The Lane beneath The Loft. The place was deserted yet we had to order the food at the bar. I realise that this can be common for pub grub so we grumbled a bit but put up with it. HOWEVER, my hubby ordered a pint of guinness. The two bar staff argued about how to pour it and EVENTUALLY handed it over with no head. The chicken liver pate was pork, the pizza was cold and the portion of macaroni was tiny. COME ON THE LOFT AND THE LANE, YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS!
DON'T GO! If I could have given a ZERO, I would've!
